Historical & Scriptural Significance

This is one of the most revered mantras in Vaishnavism, found in the Vishnu Purana, Bhagavata Purana (6.8.8), and the Narada Pancharatra. The sage Narada received this mantra from Brahma. It is said that Lord Vishnu himself confirmed its supreme efficacy to sage Shuka. It is considered the central mantra of the Pancharatra tradition.
